When you do any kind of sport you will get confidence for sure. Not because you might win a competition or a game but for the benefits you will get just because you do sport. Here are some of them:

  • Physiology – strengthening your body you will get a stronger  in body and mind
  • State – you feel like you walk and talk
  • Fulfillment – when you do something good for yourself
  • Endorphins – chemical reaction of working out
  • Endurance – the harder you workout the longer you last
  • Posture – a disciplined body stands tall
  • Breath control – the way you breath controls your mind

With all these benefits and all the confidence you’ll get it’s a really important step to transfer this into other areas of your life. Use the knowledge you possess and expand to build your confidence even more. Many people are interested in sports so that could be a reason to show you a little extra respect but even more important, lots of people do some kind of sport but the some doesn’t consistently commit to play it all the way. They skip out and create excuses as soon as it starts to be demanding and so on. If you’re the other kind you will earn more respect for being an achiever within your sport. And there’s a lot of successful sportsman out there who are successful in other areas of life because they transfer the mindset into business and such.

So the trades we are looking for in our sport should be:

  • Self discipline
  • Dare to win
  • Accept that loosing doesn’t mean you will die, get up and keep going
  • The harder you fight the sweeter is the victory
  • Consistency
  • Commitment to  follow through

Like the famous coach once said “it’s only when everybody do their absolute best that you truly win”

Get out there sport, and you will get confidence

Confidence in sports

When you are up for a challenge and about to win or lose the doubts starts to play a vicious game with the mind. It’s all about what will happen to you either or this or that result. If you win there will be glory and you start to ask yourself if you can handle it or if you really deserve it.

If you lose you will be ashamed or humiliated and basically close to dead after investing all this time and effort to come here and lose. Everybody will laugh at you and your closest one will be disappointed because you let them down.

This is examples of what might happen in our head when we are about to perform. It can be present or subconsciously.  If so then WHY?!

Some say this is back to the old days when we actually died by a mistake, those fears and reflexes are there to make sure we survive. But today they serve us here and hold us back there. Whatever you believe about now and back then it still plays with our mind today.

One solution is to change your focus. Instead of asking yourself “IF” you can handle it, you rephrase and ask yourself “WHAT do I have to do to win this” Or “How can I make sure I will be outstanding” then your mind get into solution mode instead of doubt mode. Because doubts equals fear and fear narrows peoples mind. You want to expand your mind and focus all your resources on how to deal with this particular challenge that you are facing right now.

Change your focus by asking better questions and you chose if you “struggle or snuggle”
