Warming up the muscles
A few nice get confidence images I found:
Warming up the muscles

Tai stretching his muscles before dancing in front of our cameras. London, 15th November 2008.
When I told him to get ready for the second part of the session, Tai got dressed and moved in front of the light. I already won his confidence, so I stepped closer and sat in front of him.
"So, what would you love to see, if you had to see yourself in a photo" I asked him.
He looked at me, smiling. I bet he already knew the answer, nevertheless he waited, as considering his options.
"Me in the air" he said "jumping"
"Nothing easier! What do you need to get some good jumps?"
"I need to stretch my muscles a little" he said
I just nodded and he started, while I changed the light settings for his jump. Then I moved closer once more and watching him in position I would normally avoid, I decided that, despite the lights were set for a much higher subject, he was too interesting not to be photographed in that position.
The first flash caught him by surprise, he was not expecting it, but he acted as a real model, slowly turning his head towards me, anticipating my request. And I shot once more, capturing his eye as you can see.
I have always seen photography as a skill that gets better with experience. This shot is no different. I did mistakes that I will avoid next time, but I also learned other lessons on lighting I did not experiment before.
What does not kill you makes you stronger!
Celebrating Freedom

I’m very glad I’m from the USA, where in spite of everything there is still
- free speech (as free as it can get)
- freedom of religion
- separation of church and state
- opportunity and hope
I’m not proud of our invasion of Iraq, and was againt our invasion from the start. I feel sad that we have lost the faith and confidence of people around the world in our "goodness", which was not in doubt after WWII.
Still, I’m proud, and though not a flag-waving type of guy, I celebrate our freedom, and pray that we allow others to be free as well. I hope that other nations can achieve democracy on their timetable, and as their choice, not ours.
This is similar to an earlier photo, but reworked from a different background, and as an HDR
